Everyone needs a little TLC... Technology & Literacy Classroom
By Michelle Moore
Great session. Many practical ideas for LA extensions using technology. The presenter shows all kinds of projects that she completed with her students. They had access to a computer lab. The presenter taught computers from grades 1 to 5. She co-taught with a grade three teacher for the entire morning to work on these LA projects.

Podcasting and Podcatching for the Absolute Beginner
Not really what I was looking for. I was hoping to learn more about how to make the podcast. A lot of information that was harde to follow for a beginner.
Model Lesson Create Your Own Adventure: Interactive Lesson on the Rain Forest
I loved this session! The choose your own adventure was very cool. We participated as part of the model lesson and voted on the choices. Stacy and I are so going to work on a project like this next year. I'm thinking a Canadian choose your own adventure!

Online Tools for Reading Comprehension
By Peggy Garties & Kristin Leglar
This session was based on a wesite called Into the Book. It focused on eight reading strategies: prior knowledge, Making Connections, Questioning, Visualizing Inferring, Summarizing, Evaluating, and Synthesizing. There was a online activity for students for each strategy as well as teacher pages that can be accessed. It is FREE!! I went through a couple of the activities and they were very interactive and would be appealing to students. Students can save their work and print off their work. It is for a range of grades but there is only one activity for each strategy so if more than one teacher in a school is using the site you might want to split up the activities.

Is This REALLY PowerPoint?
By Tammy Worcester
This session showed fabulous ideas for using powerpoint to create projects that could be adpated to many subjects. It was really interesting to learn how to use the powerpoint program as a publishing tool rather than only using it to create slides. It is really easy for the students to use. It was so fun that Jasmin and I bought to books with ideas!
Math and Science Activities for the Classroom
